Folded Planes Gallery Exhibit

This project explores the three dimensional potential of folded paper as a wearable art. For this exhibition, we create three dresses that blur the boundary between art and fashion. By taking origami out of its original context and applying it to a new function, “Paper Planes” addresses the spatial qualities that are created through surface manipulations. By experimenting with different folding techniques, we changed the form and structure of paper. We altered the qualities of light and shadow in each fold and crease.
